Solid Week

I had a good week all around. We had Zone conference on Tuesday. The Assistants had a good training, and President Clark gave a good training on capacity and growth. He had a small jar that he filled up with stones. Then he got a bigger jar and poured the smaller jar into it. it filled up about halfway. Then he filled it the rest of the way and refilled the small jar too. Then he pulled out a bigger jar. He ended with a huge jar. He talked about we work towards our current capacity, and as we work towards it our capacity grows so there is more of us to fill. I liked it.
On Sunday Bishop Spencer, who is a great Bishop, gave a talk about having a growth mindset. It was a really good talk as well.
We found a lot of new investigators, and we actually found quite a few through the members.
With the new ward we have been able to go on a lot of splits and team ups. It's been a lot of fun. We team up with a used to be recent convert named Mike.
I went on exchanges with Elder Mendez. It was pretty uneventful.
On Saturday Elder Wright and I went to Lindsay during the afternoon to help the Elders over there find. We talked to a lot of people and found a lot of potentials. It was a lot of fun.
We had Brad and Bri go to church on Sunday. They are working towards getting married. They might take us to the Sequoias next week. We also had a new investigator named Kim come. She has investigated the church on her own for a long time. She has a lot of questions.
The Martinez family came. Brother Shamann came for the first time since I've been here.
We received one media referral this week that turned into two new investigators. A Byu Lacrosse student talked to a lady at a gas station on a prompting and had a gospel discussion. We were able  teach Emily and her Husband, and her two grandchildren that are young.
We also had Sister Luna go to the talent show on Wednesday.
Everything has been going really well. We have a lot of people working towards baptismal dates.
Love,
Elder Keeley

DlC and Me

I had a pretty good week. On Monday we went to a Zone meeting in Lindsay. On Tuesday I went to Lindsay again and interviewed one of the Sister's investigators. he and been investigating the church for four years, and just needed to quit smoking for the longest time. When we went to the church the font was already filled with water. The plug wasn't plugging the hole. The Sisters called the Bishop and he was able to fix it. It also flooded a little outside the church. On Wednesday I went to Fresno for District Leader Council. It was a lot of fun. The Spirit is really strong at those meetings. I am one of the longest served District leaders now. There are a lot of brand new ones. We had a really good training on Obedience by the Assistants. We also had our first MCM in the new ward, and went on splits.
On Thursday we went on exchanges with the Zone leaders. We "went to their area" which is the same as ours. I went with Elder Muir, we were three day companions a while ago. We found an awesome new investigator who came to church named Carmen. She is the Zone leaders investigator though. We taught several other lessons besides that. We taught someone from the Azors. The Portuguese people from the Azors love dairies, and they are all over Tulare.
On Friday we teamed up with Brother Farb and taught some lessons. Saturday was pretty normal. Sunday we found a couple new investigators.
It rained a couple times. There was the Ag show this week, but it didn't really affect us very much. There was a cool blimp, but I didn't get a picture.
As far as my district is concerned, we traded Elder Armstrong for Elder Mendez and a first round draft pick in the next round of training new missionaries.
Love,
Elder Keeley

Random People at Church

We had a whole lot of random people at church the last couple of weeks. Three weeks ago we had Jason. He hasn't relly gone anywhere.
Anyways, last week we had Brad and his girlfriend Bri come to church. They moved here from Visalia where they were taught by Elder Stojka and Elder Bishop. We started teaching him, and have gotten him to read at least 17 chapters from the Book of Mormon. He just needs to get married.
This week we had a lady named Cindy come to church. She saw a free Book of Mormon add online and just came to church. She stayed all three hours and participated a lot. We also had Matt and Jessica come. There was also a lady named Betty that came. She has 6 kids. She wanted some temporal relief. We're trying to teach her this week.
During the week we had a lot of good stuff. We found some people and taught some people. On Thursday I went on Exchanges with Elder Derbidge, and it was lots of fun. We really focused on finding, and roleplayed throughout the day whenever we walked anywhere. On Saturday we had president interviews. They're always fun.
With the new ward there is a lot more active members. On Sunday the Bishop called about 8 new ward missionaries. (Some were Spanish). Our number of Member referrals has been going up as well.
We should be able to baptize Junior in the coming weeks. He is an 8 year old that will turn 9 on Wednesday. We'll take it.
This week I learned about how to deal with people doing disappointing things. It is important to reprove, but it is important to have the spirit there first.
This week I learned more about teaching people not lessons. Over the past while I have grown a lot better at talking less and listening more. Elder Holland says, "As we listen with love, we don't need to wonder what to say." ave to have the spirit to teach that way though.
Love,
Elder Keeley
